mark legrand & sarah munro

Raising children, balancing a relationship, earning a living; many of us are aware of the energy these true-life adventures require. When the children are grown and out of the house, mom and dad may breath a sigh of relief and remember they were a young couple once that fell in love and are now free to explore a new phase of their lives. For Mark LeGrand and Sarah Munro this means a revitalizing of their musical careers together as a vocal duet performing original music harvested from their rich adventures raising a family and overcoming many of life's challenges. The two have a stunning harmony sound and an engaging stage presence.
Sarah has been singing all of her life. Her rich musical background beginning with her mom singing her to sleep with such mountain classics as Leadbelly's In The Pines and The Banks of The Ohio, a 19th century murder ballad first recorded by Red Patterson's Piedmont Log Rollers in 1927. Sarah often smiles at the thought of these macabre lullabies, but the rich heartfelt soul of this music still echoes joyously in her voice.
Mark has been writing and performing his brand of "Thinking Man's Honky Tonk" in the spirit of John Prine and Hank Williams is evidenced on his solo efforts, All Dressed Up, 2002 and Cold New England Town, 2006.
The two released their first CD in 1998 titled Mischievous Angel to rave reviews. Long out of print, the couple is re-releasing this CD. Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Austin Texas music icon comments, "I think the greatest function of music is when spirit comes through it — and to me, that's what happens with these songs." The couple are currently at work on a new recording scheduled for the end of 2009.
